Lemon bars

These lemon bars are the best for picnics, brunches, and as desserts.


1 cup of softened butter

1/2 cup of white sugar

2 cups of all-purpose flour

4 eggs

1 1/2 cups of white sugar

1/4 cup of all-purpose flour

2 lemons, juiced


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix butter, 2 cups of flour and 1/2 cup of sugar in a bowl. Press into an ungreased pan.

Bake for15 to 20 minutes until firm and golden. 

Mix 1 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of flour in another bowl. Whisk in eggs and lemon juice, and pour over the baked crust.

Bake for 20 minutes and cool the bars until firm. Cut into 2 inch pieces.

Add any toppings you prefer to decorate the bars.
