Enjoy a Peach Tart using the fresh peaches in this week's MuckBox! You can also add other fruits of your choice
1 1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons of All-Purpose Flour
3/4 teaspoon of Kosher Salt
3/4 cup and 1 teaspoon of Sugar
1/4 of Vegetable or Canola Oil
1/4 cup of Mild Olive Oil
2 tablespoons of Whole Milk
1/2 teaspoon of Almond Extract
2 tablespoons of cold, unsalted Butter
3-5 small peaches, sliced
Other Fruits of your choice
Heat Oven to 425 degrees.
Stir 1 1/2 cup of Flour, 1/2 teaspoon of Salt and 1 teaspoon of Sugar in a mixing bowl. Stir the Oils, Milk, and Almond Extract in smaller bowl and add this to the mixing bowl. Mix gently with a fork just enough to dampen. Transfer this dough to an 11-inch tart pan and pat the dough so it covers the bottom and the edge of the pan.
Add 3/4 cup of Sugar, 2 tablespoons of Flour, 1/4 teaspoon of Salt and Butter in a bowl. Pinch the butter into the dry ingredients with your finger until crumbly.
Arrange the peaches and other Fruits of your choice overlapping in a pattern. Then, sprinkle the crumbly butter mixture on the top. Bake for 35-45 minutes and then cool on a rack.
