Enjoy a tasty hamburger steak with onions and mushroom gravy for a special dinner!
2–3 teaspoons Extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon of butter
1 pound of ground sirloin
kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1 large white onion, vertically sliced
1 cup of sliced mushrooms
4–5 cloves of garlic
1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups of low-sodium beef stock
1 teaspoon of red wine vinegar
Mashed potatoes
Divide meat into 4 1/2’’ thick patties and season all sides with salt and pepper.
Put 2 teaspoons of olive oil on a large skillet over medium heat. When oil becomes hot, add patties and cook for 4-5 minutes for both sides. Remove patties.
Heat teaspoon of butter in skillet. Add onions and sprinkle salt and freshly ground pepper. Cook until tender for about 5-7 minutes. Add mushrooms and garlic and cook until tender.
When onions and mushrooms are cooked, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of flour and stir quickly. Add broth and vinegar and cook until thickened. Add patties and heath them. Serve patties over mashed potatoes and top with mushrooms, onions, and gravy.
