Description
We all know and love Swiss cheese's signature look, but did you know that its holes are called "eyes"? Like with all cheese, Swiss is made by adding certain bacteria into milk. One of the bacteria used in Swiss cheese creates bubbles as the cheese is cooking. Without anywhere to go, these bubbles stay in place and create the holes that give Swiss its unique appearance. This variety is perfect for putting on a burger and also makes great cheese sauces.
