Ingredients
For the Sauce:
3 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of hoisin sauce
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
For the Vegetables:
2 teaspoons of sesame oil
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 onion, sliced
3 cloves of garlic
1 cup of carrots
1 zucchini, cut in 1/2" matchsticks
2 cups of mushrooms, sliced
2 cups of broccoli florets
1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
Sesame seeds: optional, for serving
Directions
1. In a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients with a whisk. Set aside.
2. Place the sesame oil and olive oil in a deep sauté pan over medium-high heat. When the pan sizzles when a drop of water falls on it, add your onions and cook until just translucent (about 4-5 minutes). Add in the garlic and stir until just aromatic (less than 1 minute). Add the rest of the vegetables and stir frequently until they become tender, about 7-8 minutes.
3. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and stir to combine. Add in the butter just before turning off the heat. Serve the vegetables with remaining sauce and top with sesame seeds (optional).
